The Smithsonian Institution's Office of Sponsored Projects
(OSP)  has the position of Grant and Contract Specialist
available. [The Smithsonian  is a non-profit organization,
not a federal agency ].  Attached is the job announcement.
The hiring salary range is from $29,966 to $36,656, wtih
potential for promotion to the next level.  This position
also offers the TIAA-CREF retirement package.THE JOB CLOSES
ON June 15, 2001.

OSP provides support to Smithsonian scientists and other
staff in developing and submitting proposals to government
or private sponsors, negotiating awards, and
administratively/financially managing grants and contracts.
OSP is also responsible for the indirect cost rate
negotiation and calculation with the Federal government.  In
the last fiscal year, OSP worked with staff to submit $105
million in proposals and accepted $44 million in awards.
OSP has a staff of 15, 5 of whom serve in the pre-award area
