Contract Services

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Regular, Full Time, Exempt

TYPICAL DUTIES: Under the supervision of the Director of Financial
Services, this position provides direct management of state, federal,
and privately funded grants and contracts in excess of $200 million
where UAF or extended campuses is the recipient. Responsible for
establishing procedures and providing oversight for grant and contract
administration where UAF is the contractor. Actively coordinates these
efforts with the research units, and the proposal office for review of
proposals and sub recipient agreements through all post award support
including compliance with agency requirements, federal and state law,
and BOR policy to insure timely and accurate monitoring of sponsored
programs, billings, technical reports, reconciliation, analysis,
compliance and audit response.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related
field, or relevant work experience in financial management, compliance
with public law, and proper classification and expenditure of restricted
and unrestricted funds. Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and
comply with public law including Alaska statutes, State and Federal
Acquisition Regulations, Board of Regent Policy, University Procedures,
and relevant court decisions and specific agency requirements. Working
knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting standards with the ability to
analyze complex financial data and execute reports to internal and
external customers. Successful applicant must have the ability to work
independently, interpersonal skills with experience in staff
supervision, recruitment, interviewing, performance evaluation,
progressive discipline, conflict resolution, motivation, and training.
Strong professional and technical written and oral communications skills
with the ability to communicate effectively will all levels of
management.
