CONTRACTING OFFICER / CONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR

The Office of Sponsored Programs at the Georgia Institute of Technology is
offering a career opportunity for a Contracting Officer/Contract
Administrator.  This position is responsible for preparation, processing,
negotiation and administration of sponsored research grant and contract
proposals and awards.  The position provides contractual services and
guidance to faculty and research staff including review, analysis and
interpretation of all new grant and contract awards.  In monitoring grant
and contract performance, the ability to communicate and coordinate with a
wide range of project sponsors is necessary.

A masters degree in business or in a related field or an equivalent
combination of education and experience is required.  Candidates should have
a minimum of five years experience in research grant and contract
administration.  Experience in the preparation and administration of
subcontracts under DoD and other Federal grants and contracts would be an
advantage.  Candidates should also have experience in contract
administration database management systems.  Preferred experience will be in
a scientific environment for non-profit institutions, although Federal
Government or Federal Government prime contractor experience is also of
interest.  A working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations is
expected.  The successful candidate must have well-developed interpersonal
skills and the ability to work independently.  Sound fiscal and time
management skills, a high degree of flexibility, attention to detail, the
ability to express ideas and positions, both orally and in written form, to
all levels of research professionals must have been demonstrated in previous
positions.  In addition, successful candidates must be U.S. citizens and be
able to obtain a national security clearance within a reasonable period of
time after employment.
