Eastern Virginia Medical School is a community-based medical school, having
partnerships with hospitals, physicians, and clinics through out the
southeastern region of Virginia, known as Hampton Roads.  The community, one
of the most populous regions of Virginia, consistently ranks high in
independent quality of life surveys.  Hampton Roads' largest cities include
Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Hampton and
Newport News.  The Eastern Virginia Medical School main campus is part of
the Eastern Virginia Medical Center, in downtown Norfolk.

POSITION:               Sponsored Programs Coordinator, Full-time, Office of
Research

RESPONSIBILITIES:       Assist faculty and staff in the administration and
managment of research funding from federal, state, corporate, and private
foundations.  Review grants and contracts in the pre-award phase for
conformance with sponsor and medical school guidelines.  Negotiate contracts
and agreements, assist with the development of subcontracts and handle
non-fiscal post-award administrative issues.  Report to the Director of
Research.  Qualifications:  BS in Business or related field, with 1-3 years
research administration experience.  Scientific background desired.
