Due the retirement of the current director, an exceptional opportunity is currently available for the position of Director, Sponsored Programs and Research at DePaul University. The selected candidate will oversee an office of six full-time persons, with a grant volume of approximately $17 million on two major campuses.  Over the last five years grant awards have increased by more than 300%, particularly in community service projects. The university has nine schools and colleges and offers more than 45 master's programs and four doctoral programs.

The position requirements are as follows:  Responsible for the solicitation and administration of external grants/contracts, including the monitoring of regulations/expenditures, coordination of internal reviews, the assurance of compliance with federal agency and university guidelines, budget negotiations, arranging of contracts /agreements, and university liaison with external granting agencies.

Additionally, you will develop policies/procedures governing sponsored programs and research activities; and coordinate the office's activities with other university offices.  Earned doctorate required; faculty experience preferred. 10+ years of experience in grant administration in a university setting; demonstrated ability to work effectively with faculty of diverse disciplines, senior university staff, and officials of funding agencies; and familiarity with institutional and community service grants required.  Strong leadership, communication and computer skills are essential.
