Please contact Margot directly if you are interested...Bill ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------- Director of Research Administration The Research Institute of University Hospital of Cleveland The newly formed Research Institute of the University Hospital of Cleveland is seeking a Director of Research Administration to oversee the administration of grants and contracts for the Institute. University Hospitals of Cleveland established the Research Institute under the leadership of the human geneticist Huntington Willard, PhD, in 1999 to advance the state of the art of patient care and foster close collaboration between basic and clinical investigators. With more than $80 million in funding, the Research Institute ranks among the nation's largest hospital-based research centers. The Institute will be recruiting a key research administrative team including the Director of Research Administration, the Director of Technology Transfer, and the Director of Technology Development and Innovation. Director of Research Administration Reporting to the President of the Institute, the Director of Research Administration will: · Provide leadership in coordinating federal grant and contract activities related to external funding · Serve as the pre-award administrator to expand grant application and support from external sources · Develop strategies that will increase proposal submission and indirectly expand the research base of the institute · Create the office of research administration and hire and oversee the professional staff · Develop hospital policy and regulations assuring compliance on research contracts, research funding systems, conflicts of interest related to sponsored research · Working with the Office of Finance and Administration help with post award administration of the grants Requirements · Experience in federal grant and contract administration including proposal preparation and submission, policy interpretation, award management, reporting and closeout. · Skill in financial analysis · Experience in supervising staff including selection, training and motivation · Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills · Entrepreneurial spirit conducive to working in a fast-paced research environment · PhD preferred, master's required Please contact Lansing & Associates, 781-237-1754 or xxxxxx@mediaone.net for further information.
