Program Director, Office of Sponsored Programs and Research Support
Job Description
Working directly with the Director of the Office of Sponsored Programs and
Research Support, the incumbent will have primary responsibility for the
following services to the university:
* Promoting and overseeing grant and contract proposal development and
submission;
* Overseeing non-fiscal post-award grant and contract compliance
Specifically, the incumbent, working with a staff, will be responsible for the
following activities:
* Identifying and disseminating funding opportunities, including
conducting specially requested searches
* Developing and conducting training workshops in proposal development,
project management, fiscal issues (including A-21 and allowable-unallowable
costs)
* Assisting in proposal team management/coordination for
multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional efforts
* Analyzing and outlining proposal requirements in order to insure
responsive and complete proposals
* Assisting in the review, development and editing of proposals
* Assisting in proposal review, production, packaging and submission
* Facilitating and providing faculty office space and conference rooms for
proposal, award and other project-related meetings
* Providing electronic application forms for NIH, CDC, SAMHSA, DoD, NASA,
AFOSR and other funding sources
* Insuring and documenting institutional compliance, including but not
limited to,
* Research involving human subjects
* Care and use of vertebrate animals in research and
teaching
* Research involving hazardous or radioactive materials
* Research involving biological materials
* Conflict of Interest
* Maintaining project files to insure completeness
* Assisting in the identification of and compliance with the technical
requirements of funding source or grant/contract award, i.e., programmatic
deliverables and reporting requirements
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree and experience in human services or research
administration or related fields. Advanced degree preferred
* Strong organizational skills
* Ability to work as a member of a team
* Ability to provide leadership to a team of professionals in the
completion of specific objectives
* Experience with a variety of external funding sources
* Excellent verbal and written skills
* Detail oriented
* Ability to take initiative
