Full-time, 12-month position, salary is commensurate with qualifications
and experience.

Illinois State University invites applications and nominations for the
position of Director of University Research Office (URO). The URO serves
as the central administrative office responsible for promoting
collaboration among faculty, the submission of proposals to state,
federal, and private sponsors, and for helping awardees deal with
regulatory requirements. The Director reports to the Associate
Vice-President for Graduate Studies, Research and International
Education and is expected to work with Deans and College Research
Coordinators to encourage the development and submission of proposals
for extramural resources to state, federal, and private sponsors. This
includes forming teams of faculty from different departments, colleges,
as well as from other universities to conduct large-scale initiatives.
The Director is also responsible for compliance with state and federal
regulations with respect to external funding.

Earned doctorate; experience in sponsored projects negotiation and
administration; leadership of teams of people from diverse backgrounds;
evidence of being service oriented; ability to work in fast-paced
environment with deadlines and short turn-around times; experience with
personnel and budgetary management; excellent oral and written
communication skills; and, knowledge of state and federal regulations
including institutional animal care and the protection of human
subjects.
