Our University is seeking information on research-only positions supported
entirely by external funds, whether classified as faculty or professional
positions.  We are particularly interested in non-tenure track research
positions where the researcher has a professorial title with the possibility
of change in rank.  Do you classify these positions as faculty or professional
staff?  How do you appoint and promote these researchers?  What is their role
within the academic units?
