POSTING ANNOUNCEMENT:
IRB Administrator
State University of New York at Stony Brook
REQUIRED: Bachelors Degree, 1-2 years administrative experience
PREFERRED: working knowledge of computer application packages, experience
with conducting or administering research involving human subjects,
experience with federal/state regulations governing human subjects
research, strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to handle
constant and recurring deadlines, effective time management skills
Administrator responsible for providing support to the operation of the
University's Institutional Review Boards.
Includes:
1. Assignment of incoming applications to proper review category and
subsequent review processes in accordance with federal regulations.
2. Provide support to investigators during the submission and approval
processes of the IRBs,
3. Coordinate the activities of multiple IRB's, ensuring equitable
workload between them.
4. Maintenance of hardcopy and database documentation for the IRB's, as
federally mandated.
5. Ensuring accurate routing of sponsor/investigator/IRB member/other
campus office correspondence to and from the appropriate IRB.
6. General review of application materials to ensure satisfaction of
local submission requirements.
7. Assignment of amendments, adverse events, investigator responses to
appropriate reviewer(s) and/or to appropriate IRB.
8. Represent ORC in meetings as required.
9. Communicating and corresponding with IRB members and investigators on
IRB matters.
10. Perform analyses as required.
11. Other IRB and/or Compliance duties as assigned by supervisor.
