 The Southern Region Pest Management Center announces the availability of
funds and  a request for proposals to address activities that support the
Southern Region Pest Management Center.  The Southern Region refers to
states in the USDA Southern Region including Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia,
Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Puerto Rico,
South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and the Virgin Islands. These
activities should include development of an information network, creation of
crop profiles and pest management strategic plans, review of technical
documents, establishment of advisory committees and participation in a
process to identify cropping regions within the Southern Region to define
future regional pest management centers in FY2003. The Request for Proposals
