I sent this question out a week or so ago and didn't have any luck, so I
thought I'd try it again. ANY information and/or guidance would be greatly
appreciated.
These questions are for any of the institutions that do a lot of POG
(Pediatric Oncology Group) studies. First off, is there a handbook for the
administration of POG studies? If not, then I have all of these other
questions and more.
Do you classify POG studies as federal or private funds? If federal, do
they pay your full indirect rate? If private, do they pay the same rate as
your clinical trials?
How involved are you in working up the budgets or do you just take whatever
is sent? If you are involved in the actual budgeting, do you recover money
for such things as lab, pharmacy, or radiology charges?
If you do not recover money for these things, do the POG patients/insurance
pay for these as standard of care? What about pharmacy related expenses on
truly investigational drugs? Who pays? Patient? Hospital? Funds from
other research sources?
I'm basically in search of a POG primer and have not had any luck with the
website or my local investigator.
Thanks,
Becca
