<SNIP> But the
ones that really burn my "eyeballs" are clinical trials where the company
is forthright in the research agreement that they are paying for consulting
or other services directly to the M.D. over and above the research/trial
work at the institution!

Chuck <SNIP>

At the conflict of interest conference recently held in DC, Dr. Koski (who will take over as head of OHRP after labor day) reportedly voiced the opinion that conflict of interests in research using human subjects can and should be avoided, rather than just managed.

If this becomes the requirement, Chuck, your eyeballs may be safe regarding clinical trials.
