Director of Grants and Contracts

The University of Missouri-Kansas City seeks to fill the position of Director of
Grants and Contracts.  This leadership position assists the university in its
continuing promotion and expansion of research and scholarship.  Working with
faculty and staff throughout the institution, the director oversees research
administration and is responsible for supervision of administrative staff,
negotiation and execution of contracts, and review and acceptance of grants.
The successful candidate must have a bachelor's degree in business or a related
field, with a master's or doctoral degree preferred.  Applicants should have a
knowledge of grant budgeting, cost accounting principles, intellectual property
issues and a record of progressive professional responsibilities.  The
University of Missouri-Kansas City is an urban institution offering more than
120 degree programs, including doctorate degrees, in a broad range of liberal
arts and sciences and professional fields.  The Office of Research
Administration manages over $100M in proposals and over $30M in awards annually.
