Position available: Senior Grants Management Specialist The Office of Grants Administration and Research Services of New York University School of Medicine, a research-intensive medical school located in New York City is seeking a Senior Grants Management Specialist for the purpose of continuing our focus on increasing the strength of our research programs by providing research administration services to our investigators and faculty. The responsibilities of the Senior Grants Management Specialist include: working with faculty, departmental administrators, and sponsor agencies on the preparation and submission of grant applications ensuring compliance with sponsor and institution policies; assisting Principal Investigators in preparing and reviewing proposal budgets; creating and maintaining proposal, award and sponsor database files; and preparing summary reports of application submissions and outcomes. Extremely important are using the Internet to maintain up-to-date knowledge and expertise in federal, state and other agency regulations and policies; supervising the tracking of pending applications; training departmental administrators in preparing budgets, developing proposals and responding to compliance requests; and coordinating post-award follow-up. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree and experience from which knowledge and skills related to grants administration have been acquired, preferably in a university or school of medicine setting. The qualified individual will have: excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proof-reading, editing and extensive computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite and Internet research); facility with preparing budgets and organizing data; organizational and prioritizing skills; the ability to work with deadlines; a sense of self-motivation; demonstrated ability in problem solving; and the aptitude to manage and execute multiple tasks.
