Re: Consequences of Delinquent Reports Sally Eckert-Tilotta 25 Jul 2000 16:18 EST

We also referred the problem to the chair, who assigned the responsiblity to another faculty, who still hasn't written the report. Since the new person doesn't submit to that agency, he really doesn't care. So far, the agency hasn't cut anyone else off, fortunately.

It's a similar situation to Barbara's, the stick isn't much of a stick.

I wouldn't worry, except that this situation is multiplying. We have another PI who has left without submitting a final report to that same agency.

Out of curiosity, how helpful would research administrators be if you received a request for assistance from the administrator from a new faculty's previous institution? Would you be inclined to pressure your new faculty to respond to their previous institution's request to write a final report?

We had this situation at our institution. The bottom line is that the
institution is responsible for the report. We referred it to the chair --
the chair then found an individual to do the report (we tried to contact
the PI who left, but she was not very supportive).
