EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY CSU San Marcos Foundation, home of the Social & Behavioral Research Institute and the National Latino Research Center, was founded in 1990 as a 501(c) 3 public, nonprofit corporation to support the mission of CSU San Marcos, the 20th campus in The California State University system. CSU San Marcos, with an enrollment of approximately 5,800, is located in the city of San Marcos (north San Diego County) just 18 miles from the Pacific Ocean. Sponsored Programs Development Manager Full-time, 12-month, with Benefits Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000 Application Deadline: August 4, 2000 Anticipated starting date: August 21, 2000 Primary Purpose: Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the Sponsored Programs Development Manager is responsible for all pre-award sponsored programs activities of the Foundation. The Sponsored Programs Development Manager is responsible for annually increasing the level of externally funded projects at CSUSM, by providing professional services and training to faculty and staff in applying for and securing awards. Duties: Consult with and advise faculty in exploring funding opportunities, developing grant proposals, reviewing proposals and accuracy of budgets, and complying with funding agency requirements. Develop and present workshops for faculty and staff on grant proposal writing, funding opportunities, and on sponsored programs administration and fiscal procedures. Participate in professional organizations, such as NCURA and SRA and remain knowledgeable on Federal funding trends and compliance issues. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree plus three years progressive experience in grants and contracts pre-award administration. Knowledge And Abilities: Strong organizational and customer service skills; expertise in electronic research pertaining to grants development; knowledge of best practices in grants and contracts administration; interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain collaborative and productive working relationships with faculty, staff, and external contacts in a team-oriented and time-sensitive environment; skill in negotiating with sponsor agencies; expertise in word-processing, spreadsheet, and database software; experience with on-line submission of applications desirable; knowledge of post-award administration and web publishing desirable.
