electronic signatures/internal routing

Hi everyone,
We're thinking of how we can best streamline our internal processes in
an effort to keep pace with our sponsors who are beginning to accept
electronic signatures. Specifically, we thought we'd begin by looking
at our 'proposal checklist' routing. (For now, we're leaving alone
other policies and procedures that require signatures, like intellectual
property agreements and disclosures of financial conflicts of interest.)
Perhaps this has been discussed before on the list, but has anyone
initiated (or begun thinking about) electronic approvals by Deans,
Chairs, etc.? What kinds of mechanisms do you use?
