The Vice President for Research at Wayne State University invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Vice President for Sponsored Program Administration. WSU is recognized as a leader in scientific research and is a Carnegie Research I university. The university is implementing a new organizational structure in the office of research and sponsored programs services that is responsive to the needs of faculty and staff. The Associate Vice President for Sponsored Program Administration is responsible for the administrative organization and operations that support sponsored program activity at WSU. The Associate Vice President is chief of operations and planning related to sponsored program policy and procedure development, training program development, and institutional practices. The Associate Vice President reports to the Vice President for Research with a secondary reporting line to the Senior Vice President for Administration and Finance. Qualifications: The selected individual must hold a baccalaureate degree, although a Master's or Ph.D. degree is preferred. Previous experience in a biomedical environment is preferred. The successful candidate needs to demonstrate a record of services that are user-oriented with a strong commitment to service. Extensive knowledge of pre- and post-award grants management, including grant finance is required. The person filling this position must have significant experience with implementation and application of computer-based systems.
