We record awards according to the start date or the date the award is
considered fully-executed, whichever is later.
For example, if we receive a grant award notice in May but the start date is
not until June 1, we record it in June. If we are working on a contract
with a start date of July 1 but the agreement is not fully-executed until
September, it is recorded in September. We do not go back and add awards to
previous months. We

Subject: end of year reports
RESADM-Lers:
in compiling end-of-year reports of proposals and awards, what
determines for you which fiscal year an award is recorded in? E.g. -- the
award letter on a recent grant is dated 6/19/00, but the agency's agreement
will likely not be signed until after July 1.
For purposes of documenting the activity of the pre-award side of your
office, do you count this as an award in FY 00 or FY 01?
