ARKANSAS AGRICULTURAL EXPERIMENT STATION
UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS - FAYETTEVILLE

TITLE:  Project/Program Director   (Grants Officer)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:   This position will serve as the Grants Officer for
the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station and the College of
Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences (AAES/CAFLS).  This position will
report directly to the Assistant Vice President for Finance and
Administration for AAES/CAFLS.  Primary responsibilities include oversight
of pre and post award activities for sponsored project grants and contracts
and facilitating involvement in sponsored programs for the AAES/CAFLS.
Duties include budget review and budget preparation assistance to faculty,
negotiations with sponsors of contractual terms, interpretation and
implementation of sponsor and university regulations, liaison with
sponsors, troubleshooting problems on sponsored projects, sub-recipient
document preparation and monitoring, and oversight of sponsored project
expenditures.

QUALIFICATIONS: A Masters degree with a strong background in business or
related field and three or more years experience in the field of higher
education research administration is preferred.  Knowledge of current
computer systems and software applications.  Strong managerial,
communications, interpersonal relations and organizational skills are
necessary.

SALARY,  BENEFITS:      This is a full-time, 12 month appointment.   Salary will
be based upon qualifications of the successful candidate.  This position
will be eligible for University of Arkansas benefits.
