Here at William & Mary, I will agree with Pat's view and experience on the subject of AY salary requested from NSF. In our case(s), it has been for a one-course release time for a regular faculty member, and 6 months of calendar year pay for an adjunct research scientist. (We got these) However I don't see it often asked for here, and we probably process around 40 NSF proposals a year. I think odds against are very high. But, nothing ventured, nothing ventured, right? : ) On 21 Jun 00, at 8:13, Hawk, Pat wrote: Date sent: Wed, 21 Jun 2000 08:13:51 -0700 Send reply to: Research Administration Discussion List <xxxxxx@hrinet.org> From: "Hawk, Pat" <xxxxxx@orsa.uoregon.edu> Subject: Re: NSF & Academic Year Support on Research Grants To: xxxxxx@hrinet.org > Tom, I think your statement that "NSF will not support AY salary" is a > little strong.
