Did you download NSF's "FastLane file" into your settings folder of
Distiller? (This is found on the FastLane homepage under a link called
"Updated PDF creation instructions"  One setting that they have is to make
your files compatible to Acrobat 3.0, and another embeds all fonts which
may be your problem.  We're been doing these conversions for faculty on
both the PC and Mac.
