I have an IRB affiliation and jurisdiction question for you all.
I'm looking for an interpretation of affiliation as it relates to non-local IRB review. The regulations state that if an investigator is affiliated with an organization that has a local IRB then they have to use the local IRB. I work at a community based hospital. Our hospital and the investigators are both structured under one parent company but may not be physically located at the same location. Also, the investigators have medical staff privileges at our hospital. Does this constitute affiliation??
Does your organization have a policy for the use of non-local IRB's? More specifically, does your organization allow investigators to use a non-local IRB?
Thanks for your help!
