Director of Grants and Contracts

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Director has oversight responsibility for the
administration of research and sponsored programs for the university. Duties
include negotiation and execution of contracts and acceptance of grants for
research, scholarly and creative activities, sponsored instruction, and public
service. The Director also reviews all grant and contract proposals and signs
as the authorizing official for the university, exercises financial oversight on
all grants and contracts awarded, and assures compliance with applicable
institutional, state, and federal regulations. The Director will work closely
with the Office of PreAward Services in stimulating research and developing
grant proposals; with other academic units of the university; and with offices
on other campuses of the university system. The Director reports to the Vice
Provost for Research and supervises the staff of the ORA.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in business or related field and progressive
responsibilities in research administration. The successful candidate should
have experience in and knowledge of grant budgeting, cost accounting principles,
intellectual property issues, compliance requirements, and federal regulations
governing grant administration. Salary is commensurate with experience.
