Region 6/7 Spring Meeting in Seattle, WA Judy Fredenberg 21 Mar 2000 16:47 EST
Hello Everyone: If you are not planning on attending the Region 6/7 meeting April 15-18 then you need not read any further and I apologize for you taking the time to open this up. However, if you are undecided.... read on for directions to the program.....you may change your mind! If you do plan to attend the meeting then you are in for a treat. Seattle is a wonderful city and I have it on good authority the weather will cooperate. The web site for the meeting is: http://www.wsu.edu/ogrd/r6ncura/p00index.html or you may access it through the link on the Region VII Home page at http://www.unm.edu/~ncuravii/ The program is accessible on the meeting Website. All sessions to be offerred are listed as well as descriptions of the sessions and the faculty who will be presenting the material. Please note that certain information related to the program is incomplete. Not all descriptions are finalized, and not all faculty are listed. THE SESSIONS WILL NOT CHANGE, however, and more complete descriptions will be added and the roster of faculty will be completed soon. Like last year you can register electronically and the link is up and running along with the hotel information. Hotel reservations must be made by this Friday, March 24, in order to get the conference rate. When you look at the on-line registration form you will see there is an extra charge for the Sunday night reception and the Monday night Space Needle event if you intend to bring a guest. Please note that the charge for Sunday night includes the cost of the food, two drink tickets and the associated tax and gratuity. The same is true for the Space Needle event however that cost also includes the cost of the ride on the monorail to and from the Space Needle. The monorail is only a block or so from the hotel. Also there will be no charge for you to ride to the top of the needle (as often as you like) for which there is usually a cost. Remember also that we will continue the tradition of the annual regional golf tournament. This will be our fifth annual tournament and Don Allen is helping Hal Gollos procure the course. It is not yet set in stone however it looks like we will be playing at the Jefferson Park golf course located 10 minutes from the hotel in Seattle. This is the course where Fred Couples learned to play golf and if it's good enough for him then I'm sure it's good enough for us. The format this year will again be a scramble and we will be reserving time for 28 golfers so please let me know if you are interested. As soon as the particulars are ironed out there will be a link to the information on the web site and we'll let you know when that is posted. This year the cost will be less than the last four tournaments so hopefully we will fill all 28 slots. Here's a little blurb taken from their website: "This club has an eighteen hole regulation course and a nine hole par 3 course. These courses offer a variety of terrain, ranging from flat to hilly. The fairways are wide, and the greens are medium in size and speed. Very little water comes into play on these courses. These courses feature vistas of the city's skyline and Mount Rainier." If you have any questions about the registration, program or golf tournament please do not hestitate to e-mail me. Look forward to seeing you in Seattle!!! ====================================================================== Instructions on how to use the RESADM-L Mailing List, including subscription information and a web-searchable archive, are available via our web site at http://www.hrinet.org (click on "Listserv Lists") ======================================================================
