Conduct fiscal and administrative review such as: allowability of costs, reasonableness, completeness, accuracy, and in accordance with the UW research guidelines as well as Sponsor policies including but not limited to: cost sharing requirements, indirect costs, administrative costs, benefit loading rates, subcontract proposal. Check for compliance with human subjects, animal use, conflict of interests, etc. Negotiate with sponsors to establish terms and conditions of grant and contract awards. Analyze and monitor awards to assure institutional compliance with grant and contract awards terms and conditions in establishing award accounts. Initiate account authorization for new, renewal, and amendment for awards. Under pre-award authority, initiate establishment of advance budgets and pre-award accounts. With delegated authority, review and approve budgetary and administrative actions on grant and contract awards, concur on institution-wide requests requiring sponsor prior approval. Provide technical advice, interpret sponsors rules and regulations, explain UW research policies and procedures to faculty, staff and interested parties. Serve as a fiscal point of contact on grant and contract proposals with funding agencies from proposal submission to the establishment of accounts. Requirements: A Bachelor's Degree in business administration or allied field and two (2) years of experience in grant or contract administration or equivalent experience. Two (2) years of additional applicable experience may be substituted for educational requirements. Additional Requirements: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment with strict deadlines and be able to manage multiple priorities. Desirable: Knowledge of Federal and non-industry granting agency's regulations and UW research policies. Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, AND Access. Salary: $2,725 - 3,489 Evaluation Criteria: In addition to the stated requirements, additional requirements and desirables, your resume should address the following job elements: Knowledge of grants/contracts (including funding sources, terms and conditions, formats), fiscal review of grants/contracts, interpretation/exlanation of technical regulations and procedures, interaction/negotiation/problem resolution with faculty investigators/staff/agency officials, written communication skills, and experience in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
