Coordinator for Research Compliance

Coordinator for Research Compliance is responsible for coordinating all
activities related to research involving human subjects, laboratory
animals, recombinant DNA, and other compliance areas. This position, within
the Office of Research Compliance (ORC), serves the University as a whole
in the area of compliance with regulations at the campus, state, and
federal levels.

Requirements are: baccalaureate in a biomedical scientific discipline and
2-3 years experience in a related area, working knowledge of computer
application packages, extensive interpersonal and communication skills,
extremely effective capacity for time management and dealing with constant
and recurring deadlines, flexibility in work schedule may be needed in
order to meet target deadlines for completion of projects.

Prior experience with interpretation of federal and state regulations, and
conducting/administering research involving human and/or animal subjects is
preferred.

Specific duties include:
·    Preliminary review of proposed research involving compliance
activities for consistency with relevant regulations and policies
·    Assisting investigators in the preparation of application materials
·    Assisting in training activities for faculty, students and staff
·    Communicating and corresponding with committee members, other
University offices, the campus research community, outside Universities,
and Sponsors
·    Preparing correspondence to investigators on committee actions
·    Review investigator responses for compliance with committee
requirements
·    Maintaining paper files and computer database on individual projects
·    Represents the ORC in meetings as required
·    Participating in internal audits by the ORC, and external audits by
oversight agencies
·    Monitoring publications, websites etc. for regulatory changes
·    Researching and preparing reports on compliance activities as required
·    Other duties as assigned by supervisor
