Liz, I suggest you investigate the Massachussetts Humanities Council or Committee or whatever they call themselves in MA--the folks who redistribute NEH money.  In Wisconsin, at least, they fund films which illuminate humanistic ideas.  Filmed oral histories are one of their favorite devices.
