Mike,
At first, I thought the new SRO access/notification system was a step
backwards, but I will say that it encourages actual conversation between
PIs and Administrators. Now they must personally call or email us to
initiate a discussion about their proposal. Perhaps there will be fewer
surprises.
Although initially we need to remind the PIs to tell us that their
proposals are ready for review, once that mindset is in place, I believe
the environment encourages communication.
