Positions available at Boston Medical Center, 660 Harrison Avenue, Boston, MA. New office space and friendly group of 24 colleagues in the office of Research and Service Grants Administration (RSGA). Position Title: Grants and Contracts Specialist (GCS) Supervision Received: Grants and Contracts Manager Number Supervised: 0 ______________________________________________________________________________ General Summary: The GCS will be responsible for the pre- and post-award administration, including accounting duties. GCS will be responsible for the administration of either research, basic, applied, and clinical research grants or service programs. GCS will serve as the appropriate Principal Investigator's/Program Director's contact for all grants and contract administration and related accounting functions. Duties include but are not limited to the following: l. Assist Principal Investigators/Program Directors in the development of the administrative sections of grant/contract applications. This includes but is not limited to, the required regulatory forms, mission statements, biosketches, budgets, and budget justifications. 2. Perform all grant related post-award functions including, but not limited to, budget and expense analysis, monthly billings, financial reporting, labor distribution changes, preparation of journal entries, reconciliation and rebudgeting. Perform all grant close-out functions as required by the RSGA and sponsor, including, but not limited to, grant and contract reconciliation/Financial Status reports, purchase order liquidations, zeroing out budgets, final reporting and carryover of available funds. Is responsible for monitoring terms and conditions of all awards. 3. Assist with the time and effort reporting system, ensuring that time and effort is completed in compliance with all applicable regulations. Perform other duties as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required with 1-3 year's experience. Pre-award and/or post-award administration preferred. Higher education may be substituted for experience. Knowledge of Federal and Non-Federal regulations and operation policies of sponsored research including OMB Circulars A-110, A-122, and A-133, OASC-3, NIH grants policy statement, and all FARs, helpful. Strong computer skills required, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment with strict deadlines and be able to manage multiple priorities. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required. Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
