?s Medical Center is seeking candidates for the position of Grant Officer. This position will be one of several persons responsible for monitoring $50 million research funding in a hospital/university setting. Applicants must be familiar in the preparation, delivery, and negotiation of grant proposals. Experience: Qualified applicants should have at least three (3) years sponsored programs or related administrative experience preferably in a hospital/university or granting agency. A BS or BA degree is required. Demonstrated understanding of the grant cycle is essential. Applicants must demonstrate familiarity with electronic research administration techniques and compliance of sponsor guidelines. Evidence of successful interaction with colleagues and clientele is required. Candidate will possess the ability to work on multiple projects with minimal supervision in a time sensitive environment. This candidate will possess excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Strong analytical ability, problem solving skills, and attention to detail is a must. Computer experience in word-processing, database and spreadsheet software is necessary. Demonstrated participation in professional development activities and the desire for professional development are essential. The candidate should have a general knowledge of and ability to accurately apply Federal and State regulations to sponsored programs. Responsibilities: Provides analytical and technical assistance to faculty, staff, and administrators in grant proposal development. Monitors research related business as well as identifies and resolves problems in conjunction with the Director of Contracts, Director of Research Affairs, the Department of Fund Accounting and Legal Affairs. This will include identifying and documenting compliance issues. Coordinates pre-award activities of grants to facilitate proposal submission and project initiation. Advises, assists, and trains faculty and staff to ensure compliance with the institution and sponsor regulations. Assists in team development of policies and procedures manual. Develops and conducts educational workshops on related policies and procedures of sponsoring agencies and opportunities for faculty. Review and edit grant proposals as well as support the Director of Contracts when necessary. Coordinates with IRB/IACUC submissions and other compliance activities.
