NOTICE: ***** A-110 IMPLEMENTATION FROM NIH *****
As you may recall from previous RRN's and articles in the legislative
updates of the Neuroscience Newsletter, the Office of Management and
Budget issued final regulations to revise the OMB Circular A-110, which
makes certain federally funded research data compliant with the Freedom
of Information Act procedures.
Pending publication of the revised 45 CFR 74, the implementation
guidelines that NIH will impose on grantees will be effective in early
2000. The revised Circular A-110 FOIA procedures will be applicable to
new and competing continuation awards made after the NIH guidance is
published.
The NIH Office of Extramural Research has posted its guidance on the OER
home page at:
http://grants.nih.gov/grants/policy/a110/a110_guidance_dec1999.htm.
For additional information on the Freedom of Information Act, please
refer to the Society's web page at:

We encourage you to review this information and share it with your
colleagues.
