Grant and Contract Specialist

Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CHMC) is dedicated to being the leader in improving child health.   As part of that mission, the Children's Hospital Research Foundation, an operating division of CHMC, has long carried out the research mission of the institution.   Over the past several years external funding of CHMC programs has increased dramatically.   Current external funding exceeds $40 million annually and CHMC is ranked third among children's hospitals in funding from the National Institutes of Health.   Expansion of the research programs and the growth in volume and complexity of sponsored activity is expected to continue.   To help manage this activity, the Research Foundation has the following sponsored program administration position available:

Reports to the Director, Research Sponsored Programs.   Coordinates the submission of grant and contract proposals and assists in the administration of sponsored program awards.   Additional responsibilities include assisting investigators and division administrators with proposal budget preparation, funding source identification, and award management.   Requires familiarity with general accounting practices and a working knowledge of spreadsheet, database, and  word processing applications, preferably MS Excel, Access, and Word.   Attention to detail, good communication skills, and ability to learn and interpret sponsor regulations is essential.   Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, concentration in accounting or finance preferred.   Salary is commensurate with experience.
