Grant and Contract Specialist
Position Announcement

Marshall University Research Corp. in Huntington, WV seeks a Grants and
Contracts Specialist. This position is responsible for various aspects of
the pre-award application process including: 1) identifying funding
opportunities; 2) advising faculty on application development per sponsor's
guidelines; 3) reviewing applications for regulatory compliance; 4)
reviewing budgets for accuracy and adherence to institutional and sponsor
requirements; 5) coordinating grant/contracts transfers; 6) assisting with
the negotiation of grants and contracts with sponsors; and 7) developing and
presenting workshops, seminars, and informational materials regarding
project development and proposal writing.

Qualifications include: 1) bachelor's degree required, master degree
preferred; 2) previous research administration required, with specific
experience in proposal and contract development, review and submission
procedures; 3) demonstrated competence in quantitative software along with
an in-depth knowledge of budget preparation; 4) working knowledge of
budgetary and compliance requirements of major funding agencies; 5)
excellent communication and analytical skills with the ability to interact
with individuals at multiple levels and disciplines, and 6) ability to
coordinate and direct multiple projects simultaneously.

Salary range is $28,500-$32,000. Marshall University Research Corp. is an
