Good afternoon,

Our institution is seeing an influx of rapid start up incentives for clinical trials. We are wondering how other institutions are handling incentives for (1) rapid enrollment or (2) rapid start-up – within this incentive can the Sponsor dictate how the incentive money is spent? If your institution does accept these incentives, do you have a decision tree or how do you determine what is acceptable? Thank you in advance for any feedback you can provide.

Thank you,

Ashley,

Has the state agency in question been able to cite either a section of 2 CFR 200 or a State of IL rule to support their request?

Good Afternoon!

I am circling back to a question I asked the group previously regarding rental costs.  We have only ever excluded off-site facility rental from our MTDC base and until the last couple of years have never had an issue.  We have one state agency that is requiring us to exclude all rental costs from the MTDC base and I have exhausted all arguments….does anyone have anything that could help?

Thank you,

Ashley

Subject: [RESADM-L] Rental Costs - MTDC Base & Exclusions

Good Afternoon,

We are negotiating a budget with a State funding agency, the agency is of the opinion that all rental costs should be excluded from the MTDC Base.  Historically we have only excluded rental costs for leased space from the MTDC base, not rental of auto or equipment.  I am interested in how other institutions are treating auto and equipment rental costs, are they excluded?

Thank you,

Ashley
