I did that.  It saved TONS of time.  Great advice!

IF I can offer one nugget of time saving advice…  Enter the full budget for year 1, including any narrative explanations, before you try to add years in any of the budget categories. If you only do the salaries and add another year, the other categories won’t copy over and you will have a blank budget everyone else times 2.

I just did a few last week. It is the grants officer who has access to Just Grants to load the application materials. Once you are in Just Grants the system will ask for PI information.

Good afternoon!

The US DOJ must be running a special offer on their grant applications because, after submitting an average of one per year, we suddenly have seven going out in the next few weeks to their various programs (OJJP, OVW, BJA).

I know that in the SAMHSA applications, the PD/PI’s name is on the SF424 as opposed to the Grant Officer; however, I am having a brain overload at the moment and would like clarification/confirmation of whose name to put on the SF424 for these DOJ applications.

The guidelines for all of the solicitations are basically the same:

In Section 8F of the SF-424, please include the name and contact information of the individual who will complete the application in JustGrants. JustGrants will use this information (email address) to assign the application to this user in JustGrants.

How do other institutions interpret the above?  Do they want the PD/PI or the Grant Officer?  I’m inclined to believe that they are wanting the PD/PI—because in the recesses of my mind, I recall one of our Grants Officers using her name on the 424 and, when it was awarded, she was listed as the PD/PI, which we then had to go about changing.

I’m not a huge fan of JustGrants, but I suppose we are fixing to become well acquainted.

Thank you in advance!
