The University of Southern Mississippi, an
R1 designated institution, is seeking applications for the position of
Associate Vice President for Research.
The Associate Vice President reports to the Vice President for Research and oversees the Office of Research Administration. The AVPR coordinates development and
administration of externally funded research and sponsored program activities for the University of Southern Mississippi and is responsible for ensuring the University complies with all Federal, State and sponsor regulations regarding the programmatic and
financial administration of funded grants and contracts. The AVPR also ensures the use and awareness of best practices for research administration, implements systems and training programs to support the research mission, and oversees strategic initiatives
for the Vice President for Research.
