I didn’t say the prime’s policy were flowing down to the sub. I was looking for the federal requirement which would take precedent unless the sub’s travel policy was more restrictive. I don’t recall if this issue was ever addressed by uniformed guidance, beyond getting the best price.

The sub’s policy does not address (allow or disallow) these forms of accommodations.

Subject: Re: [RESADM-L] AirBnB and VRBO on HRSA grants

This is interesting, and I think this topic has come up before somewhere (archives)? Shouldn't the sub be following their own travel budget justification, which the Prime has, and which should break out their travel by destination, airfare, hotel, etc? Why would travel policies of the Prime- which could involve state policies or university-specific policies- flow down to the subaward? Am I missing something?

Does anyone know the policy or restriction on using an AirBnB or VRBO on a HRSA grant? HRSA follows the same federal uniform guidance as other federal agencies, but I couldn’t find anything specific to the type of accommodations allowable.

In this particular case, the subaward is asking and states the AirBnB/VRBO are cheaper then a hotel.

Thanks

Matt
