Assistant Director, Animal Resources

The Animal Resources Unit of Oklahoma State University (OSU) invites applications for an Assistant Director.  OSU is a land grant institution with a wide breadth of activities involving live, vertebrate animals including agricultural, biomedical, and wildlife studies. 

 

Responsibilities:  To provide veterinary care for a variety of laboratory animal and agricultural animals through disease prevention, clinical care, health monitoring, and quality assurance measures. This position reports to the Director of Animal Resources/Attending Veterinarian.

Specific Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

 

Required Qualifications: Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from an AVMA accredited veterinary college, Oklahoma veterinary licensure or the ability to obtain an Oklahoma veterinary license within 3 months of employment.  Minimum of two years of post-graduate clinical experience with laboratory animal species in a biomedical research setting and ACLAM board certification are required, while formal postdoctoral training in laboratory animal medicine is preferred.
