Hi, all,
For previous JustGrants submissions where our PI has department research administration support, I’ve given the Application Submitter role to a DRA with the understanding that they will not submit directly, just complete the application.
Then I toggle the Application Submitter back to an OSP research administrator for final review and submission.
If the PI doesn’t have department support, our OSP research administrator has the Application Submitter role and has to do all the application data entry themselves.
I have not seen any role updates in this portal that would enable a DRA to do only application data entry.
Either way, it’s not optimal.

Hello
We have one due with STEP 1 into Grants.gov April 25 and the STEP 2 JustGrants portion due May 2
Routed internally, and set up STEP 1 with informing in advance our sponsored programs that the application submitter role is down to one. Also, that the graduate student (ours is for the graduate research fellowship opportunity) cannot
lead or else that may make easier the role I serve in preparing applications ahead of final review and approval. Here, with the NIJ mechanism, I believe I cannot perform in that role.
Let me know if any more is learned as pertains,
Sincerely,
Gina

[This email originated from outside of OSU. Use caution with links and attachments.]
Hello all! Looking for updates on dealing with DOJ’s JustGrants if anyone has done a recent application – we have not, but have two coming up in May.
Our understanding from prior applications is that the application submitter role is the only one which edits applications and also submits them. So we had not given this role to anyone in a department, and instead had central staff uploading
application materials as well as submitting. We’d prefer to have a department role for editing but not submitting. I heard a rumor that a recent update made this possible, but I’m not finding any documentation about new roles – the user guides were last
updated in February, and they do state that an application can have more than one submitter, but any of those would have the ability to take ownership of the application and submit it. So this doesn’t address our concern about the department staff having
submit access.
So – I’m wondering if any of you have submitted more recently than February and had a different experience? We’d very much appreciate any updates folks might have!
