East Carolina University is excited to announce a great opportunity to be part of our research administration team in the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences. As the home of the liberal arts and sciences at ECU, college faculty engage in cutting-edge and cross-disciplinary research in an broad range of areas: Environment, Natural Resources, and Sustainability; Social Justice and Diversity; Culture and Communication; Technology and Medicine. We seek a pre-award specialist who will support the research success of our faculty with their knowledge and skills in the area of proposal development. The College pre-award manager will administer the overall program for pre-award grants management, working with faculty on the budgetary and compliance aspects of proposal development, and providing guidance on sponsor and university requirements, policies, and practices. The pre-award manager will also contribute insights and advice to research leaders in the college and university to ensure continued growth and effectiveness in research administration. Minimum Requirements for the Position

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or related business area; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

Five (5) years demonstrated experience with development and submission of extramural proposal for grants and contracts in a university environment; demonstrated understanding and appreciation for partnerships with faculty, senior administrators, and external research sponsor officials; and CRA Certification preferred.
