Overview

The Sponsored Projects Officer III (SRO III) is responsible and accountable for providing institutional-level sponsored programs administration services, including, creating and maintaining relationships with extramural sponsors, presenting information to all stakeholders on behalf of the Office of Sponsored Research (OSR), driving negotiations and other efforts to timely resolution, and administrative problem-solving. The duties of this position include (but are not limited to): reviewing, endorsing, and submitting highly complex proposals; performing comprehensive analysis of a variety of awards (e.g., contracts, grants, and cooperative agreements); reviewing, negotiating, and executing (with delegated signature authority) highly complex contracts and grants on behalf of Seattle Children’s; providing advice to faculty and departmental analysts regarding critical and/or sensitive sponsored programs issues. Review sub recipient applications and prime awards to Children’s, drafting and negotiating sub recipient agreements in compliance with all applicable policies and regulations; oversee all required sub recipient monitoring associated with Children’s obligations as a flow-through entity under OMB Circular A-133.  Serve as the primary point of contact between Seattle Children’s Research Institute, its sponsors and sub-recipients, ensuring that all administrative requirements associated with the submission of applications, acceptance and conduct of awards, and issuance and monitoring of sub-awards are met. While the incumbent will have general responsibilities for managing all contracts and grants on behalf of Seattle Children’s, this position is going to have higher level responsibility for review, negotiation, and execution of various types of research and other sponsored activities contracts including but not limited to Clinical Trial Agreements (CTAs), Data Use Agreement (DUAs), Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs), and Sponsored Research Agreements (SRAs).
