Position Summary
New York University's Office of Sponsored Programs is looking for an experienced Projects Officer/Grants Specialist to join our team.  Reporting to the Assistant Director, the ideal candidate will be an experienced research administrator able to provide customer-focused support to NYU faculty and administrators for pre-award and non-financial post-award management of sponsored project proposals and awards from governmental, private and academic sponsors. Reviews funding proposals and processes awards to ensure accuracy and compliance with sponsor and institutional policies and regulatory requirements. Serves as an expert consultant for faculty and administrators in management of their sponsored projects portfolio and acts as a liaison with sponsors. Partners collaboratively with stakeholders in a dynamic, deadline driven environment to advance research at NYU

Note: This position is classified as Mostly Remote. Employees residing in the NYC Tri-State area are onsite two days per month.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree

Required Experience:
3+ years Relevant experience with research administration or an equivalent combination. Must include authoring proposals for funded research and preparing budgets.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Familiarity with various sponsor and sponsoring agency electronic research administration systems, experience using Cayuse SP and Cayuse 424/ an understanding of Uniform Guidance and federal regulatory compliance requirements including conflict of interest, export controls and research involving animals and human subjects; possess excellent computer and communication skills; be service oriented; have a sense of humor and an energy level conducive to working in a deadline driven environment.

Must be adaptable, skilled at leveraging influence without authority, energized by change, able to maintain composure with differences of opinion and under deadline pressures' be team-oriented, goal-oriented and have the ability to simplify and identify priorities and retain a collegial and friendly attitude.
