The Division of Research Administration (DRA) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville seeks a full-time Proposal Coordinator to assist faculty and staff in the preparation, review, and submission of applications for external funding.  DRA strives to provide the highest quality of support to faculty, staff, and research administrators as we strive to become a Top 10 Public University (without a medical school).

 

 

Knoxville is the flagship campus in the University of Tennessee System.  In the most recent fiscal year, we submitted over 1,400 proposals requesting over $660M in funding and received more than $185M in sponsored program funding.  In addition, our Proposal Coordinators have the opportunity to partner with the University Research Development unit and work on high priority proposals of strategic importance to the University.  Our primary sponsors include Department of Energy and National Science Foundation and have increasing activity with the Department of Defense, National Institutes of Health, and private industry.

Description:

The Division of Research Administration (DRA), the central sponsored programs office for the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, seeks a full-time Proposal Coordinator to assist faculty and staff in the preparation, review, and submission of applications for external funding.  DRA strives to provide the highest quality of support to faculty, staff, and research administrators.

This position performs routine sponsored programs activities associated with proposal reviews and submissions and learns the concepts of re-budgets and no cost time extensions.

DRA is committed to the professional development of its team and supports and encourages attendance to NCURA, SRA, and other member organizations pertinent to the research administration field.  In addition, DRA has an approved Career Path which offers opportunity for promotion within the office.
