Start early! The new vendor handling the verification process for the government is far behind schedule or was in April when ours was due for renewal verification. It took the vendor over a month to look at our submission and update our status in the system.

Two months before our registration was to expire in April 2022, NIH did not want to issue funding or new awards as we were too close to the SAM expiration date, and they wanted us to have our new validation before they would issue new awards or additional funding. It cost some additional administrative time to respond to each NIH email reminder our SAM renewal was due soon and assure NIH our renewal had been submitted and we were waiting on the vendor to update the system.

Has anyone successfully validated their entity on SAM.gov?

We are starting that process and I listened to a GSA webinar today that struck fear in my heart. If you’ve been able to successfully navigate the process, please let me know any tips or tricks (esp. if you’re a state institution).
