Nice work, Marcel!

We one time had a PI budget his “scholarships” to a camp as a cost when really they were a foregone revenue and ended up in the same situation. I can’t remember whether we worked directly with the sponsor on the solution, but in the end the solution was to refund all of the paying students their registration fees thus reducing the program income.

That sounds like a terrible problem to have. 😊

Subject: [RESADM-L] Excess program income

Greetings Research Admin Colleagues,

We have an unusual circumstance where a federal award generated so much program income that the entire federal expenditure liability has been covered by the income, and we still have excess residual. Has anyone encountered this and received guidance of how to treat the excess income?

Thanks!
