Good morning,
Yes I did present and share an approach to this issue at the 2019 SRA National Conference and at a regional conference. I’d be happy to do a group zoom, provide a copy of the spreadsheet and walk through it with those of you that are interested. Email me with your availability at 1PM and 2PM on June 23, 24 and 25. That allows us to accommodate those that may be in a different time zone. I’ll select the date and time that most can participate and confirm via email and/or Outlook invite.
Best,
Maryellen

Subject: RE: [RESADM-L] RE: Requesting Examples of Metrics Used for Determining Portfolios or Workload Distribution
A couple of years ago Maryellen O’Brien from Penn State presented on the model she uses at an SRAI Annual Meeting. I’ve found it helpful and perhaps that presentation is available online through SRAI (or perhaps she’ll share if you contact her)?

Subject: [RESADM-L] Requesting Examples of Metrics Used for Determining Portfolios or Workload Distribution
Hi everyone,
I know this question has been asked in the past, but does anyone have a good metric they use for determining workload/portfolio distribution for their teams?
I know many measure the size of an individual portfolio in terms of dollars managed (post-award) or number of proposals submitted (pre-award), however I was interested in seeing examples of metrics being used that take into account the complexity of the individual awards, reporting requirements, etc. that may provide a better earmark for how much manpower may be needed to support and manage these awards. If you have something you use and wouldn’t mind sharing, please forward it to me or point me to where it may be available online. Thanks so much!
Best regards,
Caryl Finch
