The Director of Research and Sponsored Programs at Roosevelt University is
responsible for organization, direction and oversight of the University’s
program of grants and sponsored research. Directs administrative activities for
externally funded grants and contracts, including funding source
identification, institutional review, and signatory authority on proposals.
Also negotiates contracts and develops research policy. This position will work
directly with the Provost/EVP and serve as its primary administrator.
Major duties of this role include:
Organize and direct the University’s program of grants and
sponsored research, under the direction of the Provost.
Oversee the preparation of grant proposals to fund major University initiatives. Assist faculty in applying for funding to support their research and scholarly goals.
Serve as liaison to the IRB.
Identify areas of funding and assist Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs in grant proposal submission.
Represent the University in liaison with agencies providing grant funding.
Review all modification in awards, requests for extensions and revisions in implementation schedules and negotiate with agency representative concerning these issues; supervise the preparation of correspondence regarding grants and contracts.
This is an at-will, full time, exempt position located at the Chicago office. This is a hybrid role and onsite attendance is required at minimum 2 days a week.
The salary range is $85,000-$95,000.
