The Office of Sponsored Research and Programs (OSRP) strives to create an environment that is conducive to external funding pursuits by providing quality support services
to faculty and staff. This position will work directly with faculty and staff (principal investigators or PI’s) who are engaged in research, program design and proposal development. MSU Denver currently administers nearly
$52 million in publicly funded projects from state and federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Education, U.S. Department of State, National Institutes of Health, Library of Congress, National Science Foundation,
and others. The position will guide PI concepts from inception to completion with the goal of submitting successful proposals to public funding sources (state, federal and local agencies) as well as proposals for fee-for-service and contract opportunities.
The position will assist PI’s with the development of budgets and cost proposals that associated with sponsored projects. Proofreading, editing and formatting proposals to conform with funder guidelines are essential duties and responsibilities. Therefore,
proficiency with Word and Excel are essential tools in this position. Additionally, the position will utilize
Cayuse (S2S), Research.gov, Pivot-RP funding database, Grants.gov, AASCU Grant Resource Center, GovWin or comparable tools to identify grants and contract opportunities. The position reports to the Director and collaborates
with the Assistant Director, Post Award Manager and a fellow Proposal Development Specialist, but will function largely independently on a day-to-day basis.
